Lip Fillers

Bringing out your natural beauty

Lips are a central feature of the face. Full and defined lips can give the whole face a feminine and youthful look. Beautiful lips can enhance your smile and give you a refined appearance.

Not everyone is endowed with full and shapely lips. Lips also tend to become thinner, drier and less defined with age, which can make us look older than how we feel. If any of this is the case with you, getting lip fillers from trained professionals at Bespoke Rx can help.

Lip fillers, also known as dermal fillers, are temporary injectables used to enhance the shape and size of the lips.

Many of our patients who would like to enhance their lips have expressed fear of undergoing lip augmentation. Their main concerns were looking “overdone” and disastrous complications. While these concerns are reasonable, rest assured that the lip fillers of today are vastly different from those used in the ’00s era of overfilled lips. Our goal at Bespoke Rx is to enhance your natural beauty with safe products and tested techniques.

Lip fillers are injectables used to enhance the fullness and shape of naturally thin lips or lips that have lost their contours due to aging. If you are a resident of the Tampa, FL, region and are ready to try this popular treatment, please schedule a consultation with Bespoke Rx or call us at (813) 203-6196. Your provider will create a customized dermal filler treatment plan based on your unique concerns.

What are Lip Fillers?

What are Lip Fillers?

Lip fillers are dermal fillers that are used to enhance the appearance of lips. Dermal fillers are temporary injectables that help add volume and definition to different facial areas.

There are many different types of dermal fillers on the market. But at Bespoke Rx, we only use dermal fillers made of Hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a gel-like material naturally found in the body, including the skin. It helps bind water to collagen, giving your skin a plump and hydrated look. But just like with collagen and elastin, HA production tends to decline as we age, which can result in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, dry skin and loss of volume and firmness.

Dermal fillers can help correct these signs of aging. They can also give the face more definition and volume. When used for lip augmentation, these injectables create fuller lips and/or improve their shape.

Lip fillers last anywhere between six months to one year. Their longevity depends largely on the product being used, the site of injection, and how quickly your body breaks it down.

Lip Fillers offered at Bespoke Rx

The different types of dermal fillers offered today all provide unique benefits. At Bespoke Rx, we mainly use fillers made by Restylane as well as Revanesse Lips. We may use a combination of different fillers depending on what we need to achieve. You will be informed during an initial consultation on which filler will be used during treatment and what you can expect.

Revanesse LIPS

Revanesse Lips is FDA-approved and often used specifically to add volume to lips. This particular HA filler offers long-lasting results, sometimes for up to one year.

Restylane Kysse

Another FDA-approved filler used for lip augmentation, Restylane Kysse can also be used to treat wrinkles. What sets it apart from other dermal fillers is that it uses XpresHAn Technology, which allows the filler to mold with the tissue of your lips for natural, flexible, movement.

Restylane-L

Restylane-L is perfect for patients seeking to enhance the size of their lips. Additionally, the filler can be simultaneously utilized to treat concerns such as nasolabial folds.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne is an exceptional filler option if you seek to add a subtle enhancement to your lips. This particular filler utilizes XpresHan technology, which allows the face to retain natural facial movements after injection.

What to expect during treatment

If you are a new patient at Bespoke Rx, one of our providers will take the time to get to know you during your first scheduled visit. You will be asked to fill out forms, and we will check your medical history and your current health. First appointments typically last for about an hour. You will be advised on how to prepare in the days before your first treatment.

Your provider at Bespoke Rx will inform you on the best course of action, including the type of filler, injection technique, and the best course of action to achieve the desired outcome. You can expect this type of treatment to last for approximately 15 to 60 minutes, with downtime only caused from swelling and bruising.

Because all fillers used at Bespoke Rx contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic, the treatment is generally tolerable. However, everybody is unique and tolerates pain differently, so your provider may apply a topical anesthetic to help mitigate feelings of discomfort. Without a topical anesthetic, you may feel a slight pinch and stinging. Small amounts of filler are used, typically around 1ml.

Once your provider has finished with the treatment, they may apply an ice pack to the treated area to further reduce discomfort and swelling.

You will notice results immediately after treatment. But it will take a few weeks for the fillers to settle, swelling to subside and for the final results to appear. You will be able to enjoy your results for a relatively long time, possibly up to two years. But if you wish, you can have lip fillers redone every six to twelve months to keep your lips looking their best.

Can I get Lip Fillers

Most people 21 years and older can get our lip fillers. However, lip fillers are sometimes contraindicated in patients with severe allergies to some proteins and anesthetics. Your practitioner will assess whether you’re the right candidate for lip fillers and what alternatives to consider.

How do I prepare?

Avoid over-the-counter thinning medications and supplements two days before and after treatment. Examples include NSAIDs, aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, St. John's wort, and alcohol. Do NOT stop taking prescription medication. Also, avoid exercising a day before and after treatment. These measures will help prevent bleeding and bruising.

Will I look fake?

At Bespoke Rx, our goal is to enhance your natural beauty. Our nurse practitioners are trained to help our patients achieve the results they want safely. So, no, you will not end up with overdone lips but a look that’s in harmony with your features.

Is this procedure safe?

The risk of side effects and complications is low when dermal filler treatments are done by trained medical practitioners and with tested equipment and products. However, complications can occur and may include swelling, bruising, asymmetry, injury and infections.

What if I don't like the results?

Lip fillers are temporary injectables, meaning they tend to dissolve over time. We can also dissolve your lip filler quickly by injecting hyaluronidase into your lips. Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that is naturally found in your body and that dissolves HA.
